London - Ever wondered what the faces of people from 5,500 BC (SM) were like? Now, the experts managed to reconstruct what kind of face people from the stone age.

MSc student Jenny Barber from the University of Dundee makes use of the latest police techniques commonly used to reconstruct and identify decaying bodies to re-create the face of 15-year-old Viste Boy teenager.

This adolescent lived in the Vistehola cave near Stavanger in Norway at 7,500 years ago in a clan of 10-15 people. As police technology becomes more sophisticated, the results of this reconstruction become one of the most accurate visions of human ancestors.

Barber menggunakan sinar-x dan hasil pindai laser fragmen tengkorak untuk membuat model komputer 3D tengkorak. Karena hasil pindai sangat detail, Barber menambahkan beberapa informasi tambahan mengenai Viste Boy ini.

“Tujuan saya membuat sesuatu semirip mungkin dengan aslinya,” ujarnya seperti dikutip DM.

Hasil rekonstruksi menunjukkan, remaja ini cukup berotot dan sehat, lanjutnya. [mor]
