In case you missed it. A huge comet smashed into Jupiter and we caught it on video! (100% Powered up)
A huge comet named Shoe Maker Levy 9 impacted Jupiter in 1994 and the explosion was the size of the Earth!
Shoe Maker Levy 9 was discovered in 1992 by astronomers Carolyn and Eugene M. Shoemaker and David Levy.
The Impact was anticipated, so they were ready to capture it when the time came. This was the first time we had observed a collision in our solar system so it came with plenty of new information for us to analyze. The crater that it left was more visible than the Great Red Spot, and lasted for months.
Here it is folks.
Can you imagine if we had something like that hit the Earth? We would be vaporized immediately! I'm glad we have a huge neighbor that pulls in huge comets like that.

COOL! I love stuff like this. Space is so crazy, I love it. I wish that I could live long enough to see society make it to the point of inter-planetary travel and participate in it :'(.
Within our life time there could potentially be medical breakthroughs with stem cell research, that could keep us around a little longer. I seen some real scientist that were saying the millennials may live to be 200 - 300 years old!
Sheeeeeit, I hope so.
Its just a matter of time.
Probably its just a matter of time till one of those hits Earth again...
Yeah I know, its not if but when.
