Renegade Science
What you'd call basic science took several wrong turns in the century or thereabouts from around 1850 - 1950, including uniformitarianism/evolution(ism), Einstein's bogus claim of time and space being deformable (relativity), gravity-based cosmology and a couple of related ideas including expanding universe, big-bang, gravity waves etc.
As you likely know from experience, when you take a wrong turn, the distance you may have covered since the wrong turn is not "progress"; that distance is just how far you have to go BACK to ever get on the right path again... A great deal of what our schools teach and call "science" is just that distance needing to be retraced.
My hobby shop projects along such lines include an attempt to construct a reasonable history of our planet and solar system, as well as an effort to see what happens when math-style logic is applied to the study of ancient literature including Bible stories. Much of what we read in such stories is so severely at odds with present reality and experience that most moderns view the authors of those stories as simple-minded. It turns out that the realities those ancient authors faced actually were very far removed from our experiences.
You might have noticed that the story about the woman and the snake in Genesis is presented without any kind of an explanation, i.e. as if everybody simply knows that women can talk to snakes. Granted nobody is ever going to get anywhere trying to teach a snake to speak Hebrew or English,,, But in a telepathic age?? It turns out that is what the story of the tower of Babel is actually about. I have a Youtube channel called Ganymede Hypothesis:

Lots of interesting stuff; many will find most interesting the stories of the flood and the tower of Babel:
I have a website largely dedicated to the same kinds of projects:
Most interesting items are the sections about Mars and Ganymede. Both were inhabited in past ages and NASA/JPL images indicate that Mars remains inhabited, at least minimally: indigenous humans and small animals, no large animals or flying birds.

The new video I'm telling people about is the thing about electricity and the formation of solar systems:
