WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF EXPERIMENTATION IN SCIENCE FOR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION TODAY?

in #science6 years ago (edited)

Today we can understand how the purpose of teaching science is to develop the ability of children to analyze the complete nature of their environment. Today, children and adults must understand that what it takes to be a scientist is potentially in each of us, the power to teach science is not to train people who will spend the rest of their lives in scientific activities.

The main intention is to train human beings with a comprehensive vision, taking into account the development of scientific thinking skills in children; how to question and reflect on the natural phenomena that happen around us, this fact that will allow you to develop a scientific attitude and become a reflective, critical and analytical being in the not too distant future; able to follow a method to conduct research based on available information, formulate hypotheses and verify them through experience.

The fact of experiencing is linked to respecting the vital processes of each one, to listen, to try to understand, to offer opportunities and not to restrict them towards others, to open many possible paths and not to force them to follow a certain path. No one can experiment for another, we must experiment for ourselves to acquire new knowledge.

For many years behind the education we must start the child in an education where he can develop the ability to think and understand the phenomena that surround him, for which we will use the methodology of classroom experimentation, which follows these steps:

  • Observation.

  • Hypothesis formulation.

  • Experimentation.

  • Data Collect.

  • Hypothesis contrast.

  • Graphic representation, etc.

The main effects that we should propose working with the children are that they know and understand some phenomena with their own interests and enjoy that they establish relationships between everyday events and their explanation of everyday life and its scientific explanation to achieve a end in common.

How to achieve work through experimentation in the classroom?

The aim of achieving to raise children cognitive conflicts that lead them to restructure all their knowledge by nature and to develop a systematic observation and a critical spirit that allows you to know phenomena of daily life, must carry out a series of scientific experiences carried out with commonly used materials that they know and feel familiar with. These experiences are about electrostatics, density of bodies, aerodynamics, etc., issues that arise from the interests of our students.

All the experiences must always be done in a playful and motivating environment for the students, so that we achieve that they are eager and expectant that the "magical" moment of the experiment arrives and can be in a certain way a fun and educational activity for each of the children who practice it.

Before starting with each of the experiences it is advisable to carry out a series of previous activities with the intention of motivating the students and awakening their interest as riddles, stories, dramatizations, stories and why not the music as well.

Next we present the materials that we are going to use although sometimes these are contributed by the own children it is good to use material of recycling so that they have a double use We classify them, we talked about each of them, what they are for, if they use it in their Home I enter other questions.

Then we explain what we are going to do and propose possible hypotheses: what do you think will happen? What is going to happen? why? what is the objetive?

The activity that follows is the whirlwind of ideas in which each one provides possible solutions in the experiment and, once all this is done, the experiment can be started in order to check whether the hypotheses raised and elaborated are correct or not. Once carried out and seeing the result obtained in agreement and assembly, an explanation of what had happened in the obtained result is sought.

Finally, the result is recorded on a record sheet that must be prepared in advance and in which the name of each of the student, the title of the experiment title, the materials we used, the steps we had followed and what there was happened, that the motive and because they see it important in their education.

Children love to do experiments. With them, while having fun, they learn and ask questions about the world around them. Among its many benefits, scientific exploration feeds the child's natural curiosity, fosters his interest in science, stimulates reasoning and logic, improves his ability to solve problems, increases his self-esteem and prepares them to understand more complicated scientific concepts in the future.
To enjoy science is not necessary to have a laboratory, you will be surprised at the amount of experiments that can be done with a few homemade materials.

so she is a friend, there are many studies and knowledge that you can achieve through experiments, a pleasure to share and thanks for commenting! @lasocia
