Dinos now have colour

Not only have feathers been preserved in some fossils but we now have pigments in those feathers being preserved as well.

Up close you can see the coloured feathers still adhering to the fossil.

From the colour patterns they have been able to figure out more about the environment that these dinos lived in due to the level of "countershading".

countershading is the ratio between the darker upper side and the lighter underside.
