Grand Solar Minimum: Extreme Snow Falls In The Alps & Avalange Red Alert

Oh boy, did it snow in the Alps or what? I do have some extraordinary images but first I want to mention that the alps in Italy, France and Switzerland has been more or less snowed in. The reports are saying that on January 9th, many of these alps received snow amounts between 1,5-2 meters (5-7 feet).

Comments: French forecasters have described the snowfall as the kind that is only seen "once in every 30 years," with up to 1.8m (6 feet) of snow falling in 36 hours in parts of the Savoie area.

When it snows that much in 36 hours, you will get snowed in, and that is exactly what we are seeing in these images and these areas will basically become paralysed.

It is great if you like snow and skiing but it is also very dangerous. The snow is heavy and wet and there are many avalance red alerts across the alps. Btw, red alerts are the most serious alert so be very careful if you are in any of these areas.
