Our Story On Sunday - Gigieng Estuary Expedition.

in #science7 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemians... As usual, every Sunday we do various tracing Aceh history agendas with @mapesa team, this activity has become our routine every week, like has become a hobby for us.

This expedition activity is a form of initial review @mapesa team , to track various historical potentials in the region.

This area located is on seashore , not far from royal center of Lamuri. It's carrying a variety of tools on our shoulders, we begin the journey, in very hot weather.

To prove an area that has historical potential, surely it must be proved by various historical remnants, from an archaeological point of view, in the form of ancient buildings, inscriptions, fragments of pottery used by the society at the time, etc.

In our initial yesterday's expedition, it's enough to prove that this place has a historical potential for actionable, with the variety of evidence we found, even, I found gold coin, the coin belongs to the Queen in the kingdom of Bandar Aceh Darussalam, written in Arabic:

سري فادوك كملات شاه
(Seri Paduka Kamalat Syah)
زينة الدين شاه بردولة
(Zinatuddin Syah Berdaulah)

According to Hasjmy, the Queen had ruled the Kingdom of Aceh in 1098-1109 H / 1688-1699 AD Then, seven years after being fired from his throne, the Queen returned to rahmatullah on Sunday 28 Zulhijjah 1116 H (1706 AD) the year you left a world that did not can perish this, Rahimahallah.

Pottery is a tool of clay formed in such a way, usually forming a container, then performed the process of burning or drying in the sun.

In archaeological excavations, archaeologists usually find fragments of objects made of clay or pottery. Pottery from historical or prehistoric times is an important finding for human life.

In our expedition, other than gold coins, in this place also we found many pieces of pottery coming from various dynasties.
such as:

  • The late Ming Dynasty
  • Qing Dynasty / ching
  • The dynasty ming swataw
  • The rock of the 16th century vietnam martavan
  • Local pottery.

Also brokenet bottles brought by the Dutch colonial 19th century AD, such as drink bottles produced at Holland in 1890, also in Rotterdam early 1900 AD.

And this is the photo of us who took part in this expedition.
