Why Is Our Environment Changing
Our environment is everything outside us. The environment of an organism is all the things outside the organism that act as the conditions or requirements for the organism to live. Organisms always interact with their environment, and this interaction is called ecosystem.
What is Environment?
Ecosystem changes in structure and function all the time. This change me be merely a change in a particular place which does not affect stability, but it can also be a great change which may affect the stability of an ecosystem There are two causes of change of an ecosystem, namely: a. Internal factor in the ecosystem it self. b. External factor, usually are result of human activities.Environment is everything that is around us. It can be living or nonliving things. It includes physical, chemical and other natural forces. Living things live in their environment. They constantly interact with it and change in response to conditions in their environment. Environmental change is a change or disturbance of the environment most often caused by human influences and natural ecological processes. Environmental changes can include any number of things, including natural disasters, human interferences, or animal interaction. Source
Internal Factors
An ecosystem undergoes natural development that is change occurring in the ecosystem on the way to maturity or balance. The natural development is called succession.
Succession happens as a result of changes of physical environment within a community. The process of succession ends when a community is formed or the ecosystem climaxes. This is marked by stability or absence of further changes in the ecosystem.
Formation of an ecosystem begins with the growth of plants or other organisms in a particular place that enables other organisms to live there. The organisms are called pioneer plants or pioneer vegetations.
Successions are classified into two, primary and secondary successions. Primary successions are the formation process of an ecosystem in a place which has never been occupied by an organisms until a climax is formed (the ecosystem cannot hold more organisms since all niches are occupied already). But, secondary successions are the formation process of a new ecosystem in a given place which has been settled by an organism before.
External Factors
Environmental changes may also be caused by external factors, mainly human activities. Human activities play a great role in changing environmental balance.
Examples of human activities which cause environmental changes are as follows. 1) The decrease of forest area Due to illegal logging, forest fires, clearing of forest for development projects and conversion of land for plantations including migratory farm. 2) Increase of environmental pollution.
The meaning of environmental pollution is the contaminant of an environmental which can cause decrease of environmental quality and disturbance to the health or peacefulness of organisms. States that environmental pollution occurs when there is environmental deviation that brings about negative effects to the environment.
Changes in the environment affect the distribution and behaviour of living organisms. For example, humans have been cutting down trees for thousands of years. We do this to clear land for farming and building, and for wood to use as a fuel or building material. This deforestation can have local effects, such as a reduction in food and shelter for animals. It can also have more widespread effects, such as changes in rainfall and temperature.
Conclusion
Some parts of our world community must have an effort to run the environment, as we know together that the more days the quality of our environment diminishes one of the causes is the ignorant hands around us. Therefore we must strive and do everything possible to do the simple things we can do to improve the quality of nature around us.
