Drone Market Looking Toward The Sea
Drones are an increasingly popular product with many people around the world today. They are used for a variety of tasks, from filming football practices or scenes for a movie, to documenting protests, putting on synchronized dancing performances in the sky, and even being used to help with seeding clouds.
And now we might see the drone market expand into the sea.
It's predicted that the market will soon see an increase in the options for underwater drone capabilities. At the moment there isn't much, but just this year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas, the PowerRay underwater drone was unveiled.
The PowerRay was created by a Chinese robotics firm known as PowerVision and it is marketed as a tool that is going to change the finishing world as we know it. This sort of drone really helps to lower the price point for customers who are looking to get into the market, who might want to engage in some oceanography.
But the PowerRay isn't the only one out there at the moment, there is also the Open ROV, AquaBotix 8GB HydroView Submarine Drone, the Moebius Voyage Mini Flying Sub, and others. There are a number of companies that are trying to break into this consumer market.
With this technology and these types of underwater drones, customers of those drones will be able to explore much more underwater than they would be able to had they gone diving or swimming to look around with goggles etc. Not only can average consumers use it, but think of the possibilities for independent filmmakers and photographers as well to use this technology to capture some amazing images of the world.
There are already a number of drones available that can easily transition from flight to underwater diving and swimming capabilities. And as more competition gets involved, we can expect that the price will become even more accessible for consumers.
Aside from being used privately, we can expect that the state will also be employing the use of this technology as well. Military research has already been used to commission projects in this area. One of the underwater drones that was built thanks to their research initiative, was the Naviator, and the goal is to use that drone in a variety of missions.
It will be exciting to see how the market looks in a few years time, as to what drones are available and at what price points. As more people venture to embrace this technology, we can expect to see a lot more creative content come to market from people who use the drones to explore underwater.

When I was at the NAVY TAP Forum for small businesses I saw a ton of underwater drones being developed for a myriad of purposes. One of their main focuses is on the following document, in regards to the new zone of warfare for them which they believe is the Arctic Pole which is melting and creating an entirely new area to patrol and they want to use these drones to do it. They have a document that i think is public, called Arctic Road Map 2030 that documents all this. Here is the .pdf link => https://www.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/star/documents/meetings/Ice2015/dayTwo/9_White_J_dayTwo.pdf
thanks for sharing that man! great info!
Enjoyed the story @doitvoluntarily Thank you.
