The art of science
Yes, science is an art, the art of the reasonable.
There are no certainties,
there are no absolutes,
but yet no dogmas,
only the prudence of thought
and intellectual honesty
to believe just in what is reasonable.

But must reason necessarily lead to nihilism? Rationality as a belief system will consistently lead to the conclusion that existence is futile. If you question the basis of everything, you'll find there is no basis for anything.
