Coronal Hole, Ceres Water, Weather Events
The last 24 hours of the Earth Facing disc shows no solar flares, no sunspots and no coronal mass ejections (CME). The coronal hole that causes minor geomagnetic activity is now starting to depart the disc. Solar wind has peaked and the Planetary K-Index is moving back into solid green levels.
Earthquakes and volcanoes of note
- 5.6 magnitude earthquake near South Sandwich Islands
- 4.7 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Güiria, Sucre, Venezuela
- 4.0 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Oregon
Space Objects
No new Near-Earth Objects(NEO) added to the database.
Other News
- NASA Dawn Reveals Recent Changes in Ceres' Surface. "Changes in the abundance of water ice on a short timescale, as well as the presence of hydrated sodium carbonates, are further evidence that Ceres is a geologically and chemically active body." Or... Aliens.
- Astronomers have discovered that all galaxies rotate once every billion years, no matter how big they are. Hmmm, sounds like some grand design.
- On the jet properties of the γ-ray loud active galactic nuclei. It takes a lot of energy to keep those galaxies rotating on time.
