Geometric energy patterns at New Zealand pre-Maori megalithic locations

in #science7 years ago (edited)

In the video further down in this post, Hamish Miller a dowser visits sacred Maori sites and finds that around them over time a geometric pattern emerges. Manifestations of geometry rather like the crop circles and shapes of flowers begin to build up because as Hamish claims the earth energies at the site respond to a human presence that recognises reciprocaly the presence of the energy.

So you either experience it or you don't. It might be a long lost capacity, dormant in our society, probably due to our preoccupation with the tangible repeatable materialistic science which our society holds as the only truth.

Such energy is very subtle and reveals itself to sensitive people. The Maori of the past have legends of abilities to listen to the earth, to trees and to walk and follow energies that they perceived visibly. Think of the film Avatar. This is very similar to the Song-Lines of the Australian Aborigines practice of 'Walkabout' travelling on paths. This also relates to similar religious practices in Europe of pilgrim's visiting churches and holy places; walking to them as in the Camino routes to Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain. Churches which are very old can have for some people; a magnetic attraction. A great many of these churches and cathedrals are built upon locations that were previously revered by the Romans and beyond them further back lots of these places were neolithic sites. People therefore have been visiting these places repeatedly, so its not an entirely lost art.

The other side of the argument should be known - Bad Archaeology: debunks some of the issues in the video in the above post. Its always reasonable at the very least to know what the opposite argument is - for balance:

This sceptical website investigates many archaeological based or related issues. The single point of relevance in relationship to this post is regarding the validity of controversial artefacts. Also on the website the concept of 'energy' locations associated with ley-lines, which Kieth the Bad Archaeology presenter says DO NOT EXIST, is covered in some detail. I can guess that Kieth doesn't believe that dowsing exists either. Rather like 'If I don't experience it then it cannot be true'.

How does he know it does not exist? Is that not also a belief? Its comparable to other human experiences like:

Love does not exist: because I have never been in love.

Without experiencing an internal tangible to the self emotional feeling, such a person can say it does not exist.

LOVE is experienced but it has no objective measurable scientific factual basis.
