Why does the center of the galaxy shine so brightly if there is a black hole?

in #science7 years ago

If you are lucky enough to live in the countryside, away from the pollution and luminca of the city. You will have realized that a clear sky night is very possible to see the stars clearly and not only that and not only this but also the milk route but if you are very curious you have asked yourself .

"because the images show the Milky Way with a center bright and it is not possible to see that bright center from here?"

The whole sky should be illuminated with that light.

you will also have asked yourself "why if there is a center with a super massive black hole, there is so much luminosity?"

To start with, the only real photos of the viaa are those that you can take from here.

No, those images that we have of our galaxy completely from the outside are not photos, they are artistic representations. If you wanted to take a photo of the latea way to such a magnitude, you would have to take a camera and take it outside the galaxy. More or less 100,000 light years away, which is not as far as you can think since most galaxies are millions of light-years away.

Of course we have photos of other galaxies that are real that show the whole body of them but the noestra is not possible and we can only do it from here.

But how do we know that our galaxy is a spiral galaxy? if we can not see it completely

It is due to the protuberance that is possible to see from here. Explaining this better no photo shows protuberances nor can you see the bright center then how is this possible?

From the point where we are not located in the Milky Way This is a picture of the center of the galaxy in the center you can see some colossal brightness but not all.

The only way to capture that brightness from here is by using other parts of the electromagnetic spectrum as you can see in the following image.

The only way to capture that brightness from here is by using other parts of the electromagnetic spectrum as you can see in the following image. But if it is as noticeable in other spectra as we can not see it with our eyes? That is due to the cosmic dust which is so thick that it absorbs and disperses the immense amount of visible liz that comes from the center of the galaxy.

Why is it that the center of the galaxy shines so brightly

This is because there are a lot of massive stars in their center, all of them are piled up but temporarily they are together with each other. The density of the number of stars in the protuberance is quite high, those stars spiral around the center of the galaxy, something like comets orbiting our sun.

If there is a black hole in the center of the galaxy, but a black hole is not very qualified to shine, that is why it does not shine because it is a black hole. Well now if I really do, it is not possible to see a black hole because nothing can escape from a black hole or even the light. But that does not mean that all these entrellas that are around are going to be swallowed by this super massive hole and then segruiremos us as a dessert? ... NO

A black hole is just a concentration of mass in a very small region, which things orbit around. To give you an example, you could replace the Sun with a black hole with the exact same mass, and nothing would change. I mean, we'd all freeze because there was no Sun in the sky anymore, but the Earth would continue to orbit this black hole in exactly the same orbit, for billions of years.

Same goes with the black hole at the center of the Milky Way. It's not pulling material in like a vacuum cleaner, it serves as a gravitational anchor for a group of stars to orbit around, for billions of years.

In order for a black hole to actually consume a star, it needs to make a direct hit. To get within the event horizon, which is only about 17 times bigger than the Sun. If a star gets close, without hitting, it’ll get torn apart, but still, it doesn’t happen very often.

The problem happens when these stars interact with one another through their own gravity, and mess with each other’s orbits. A star that would have been orbiting happily for billions of years might get deflected into a collision course with the black hole. But this happens very rarely.
