Bivalent Booster Now Only 21% Effective Against Infection
A matched cohort retrospective study out of Qatar , with 68,288 participants, has estimated that the bivalent booster is 21.5% against covid19 infection after vaccination for covid naïve recipients which rises to 33% for recipients with prior infections and 25% for the general population. This is similar to the results found in the slightly smaller Cleveland Clinic Study" which found a VE of 30% against infection for the booster. In absence of severe COVID-19 cases, effectiveness against severe COVID-19 could not be estimated. Further results and limitations are in Section S2. W
