What is Reflection of light?

The phenomenon of traveling of a light ray through a certain medium, strikes a surface and travellss back throughthe same medium is called 'Reflection of light.'

There are 2 laws of drawing reflection. What are they?

1. The incident ray, reflected ray, normal should be on the same plane.
2. The magnitude of the reflected angle and the magnitude of the incident angle should be equal in value.

Have you observed?

Why does this happens? What is the scientific reason for this?

The reason for this is Refraction of light.

What is Refraction of light?

The change in travelling direction of light when light passes through one transparent medium to another transparent medium is known as 'Refraction of light.'

Dense and Rare medium

When light travels through two mediums, the medium with less density is called as 'Rare medium.'

When light travels through two mediums, the medium with high density is called as 'Dense medium.'

In this, air is the rare medium and glass is the dense medium. The light ray which pass through the dense medium is close to the Normal.
