Automation in Advance Technology; would you fly on a fully automated self flying jetliner
We all know technology is advancing toward a level that is whaoing everyone. But come to think of it, Is it better for humans, will the technology advancement make life easier?
Yes it would. Well so I believe. But life will become more expensive and man will be too dependant on mechanics. However it seems, I still believe it got its good and bad side.
For years now, research and works has been going on, on how to manufacture airplanes that will be fully automated without the presence of a pilot on the cockpit. Several experimental works and test have been done.
So far, success record have proven that an airplane can start up, taxi, takeoff, fly the automated route and approaches as programmed. But so far, a safe landing without a crash has not be recorded. Interesting right?

Now the big question;
Would you fly as a passenger on a fully automated self flying airplane without the presence of a pilot on board?
As I pilot, I would answer the question from my experience with airplanes. The answer is NO!
Reasons been that, in as much as automation is good and very accurate, there are some set backs to its limitations:
•Automation like any other mechanics stand a chance of failing. Even though the chances of failing is 1/10, the 1 could just be the air plane you/me happened to be on.
•Automation are computer programmed. There are situations where flight route or destinations can change due to weather or other circumstances. What happens in such a scenero?
In as much as automation is good and will help in effective cost reduction and pilot error, I will not agree that an airplane flying with such high level of risk, should be allowed to fly just with computer programmed automation. I believe that the services of a human will be needed to aid the automation.
While we watch to see the unfolding of advance tech in this jet age, I am looking towards the lunching of a self flying commercial jetliner by Boeing Company.

In much sincerity, i would love to be on such plane. However, not at launch. Several years of successful testing and retesting would give me the confidence to board such plane. Thank you for this information our pilot @ceepee.

Everything is possible, it’s a matter of programming, after all some space crafts doesn’t need pilot 👩✈️ to locate themselves to outer spaces.Therefore, if jets turn out to be pilot free, why not, I’ll enter if it becomes a trend without a substitute.
