Saturn is considered the second largest planet in our solar system, and the sixth planet from the Sun. It has large rings that surround it and about 60 moons, Titan being the largest. You can see Saturn in the night sky without a telescope, it does not flicker like a star. In 1610, Galileo observed Saturn with a telescope. Saturn takes 30 Earth years to complete its orbit around the sun.

History
Saturn was formed more than 4 billion years ago, and is made up of gases. The planet was formed by large masses of gas combined in the universe. As the gases mixed, they got larger and attracted more gases. Saturn was formed with the help of gravitational attraction. The two main gases that make up the planet are hydrogen and helium. Saturn also contains methane and ammonia. The planet is about 75,000 miles (120,000 km) in diameter and the lowest density of the solar system.

Internal core
Although Saturn is cold on the outside and has an outer layer of solid ammonia crystals, the inner core is about 22,000 ° F (12,000 ° C). According to NASA research, Saturn probably has a rocky core about the size of Earth, with gases surrounding it. It is believed that the core is made of iron and other materials. Around that inner core there is an external core of ammonia, methane and water. On the outside of this layer there is another layer of compressed liquid metallic hydrogen.

Outer core
Around the inner core, the layers become less dense and thin. There is another layer of hydrogen and helium, and then another layer consisting of less dense hydrogen and helium that mixes with the planet's atmosphere. Layers of clouds surround Saturn, which are visible to us. The color of the planet is due to the sun reflecting in those clouds.

Theories / Speculation
Due to the density of Saturn, no human being or other form of life would be able to survive on the planet. As the planet is made mostly of gases, humans would be unable to land for testing. There are constant storms on Saturn and a temperature of -280 ° F (-173 ° C)

Testing by experts
In 1973, NASA sent the Voyager 1 and 2 probes, which reached about 100,000 miles (160,000 km) away from Saturn, documented the planet through photographs and carried out experiments. Through these photographs and experiments, many theories about Saturn, as if it had a solid core or not, could be tested.
