I'm down with the whole not destroying the world thing. But, then again, there is no oversight. They just go head long to whatever end they like.
This was more a reference to a stupid movie with an antimatter bomb or something like that :)
There is really no risk. There were studies about that (and here we are not talking at all about the LHC: we are at much smaller energies).
There is no need to worry. These kinds of things are happening all the time in space at higher energies.
Also on Earth actually, as there are ultra high energy cosmic rays hitting Earth once in a while with an energy at least 10 million times higher than the LHC energy :)
Absolutely I hadn't even thought about that! That is why I laugh when I hear these theories that the LHC is some kind of doomsday device that will bring about some kind of calamity.
