Rock-Forming Minerals
We learned that rocks are formed from minerals. Two of the most common are Quartz and Feldspar.
Quartz can be found in any type of rock, it is a very old minerals that can be found in any rocks no matter how ancient. Since quartz can be found anywhere it is called "tramp" mineral.
As empr gov:
While rocks consist of aggregates of minerals, minerals themselves are made up of one or a number of chemical elements with a definite chemical composition.
Feldspar is a very common mineral just like quartz, Different kind of feldspar has different colors, some kind are used as gemstone, some is transparent. All kinds of feldspar have a glassy or pearly appearance. The gem variety of feldspar can be found in Switzerlamd, Norway, Siberia, Madagascar, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Colorado.
Hope we learned something. :)
