Hi friends Steemit all, hopefully always in good health. In the previous post I have discussed about the superior rice varieties 'Situ Pategang', then On this day I will try to discuss about other superior rice seedlings Ciherang varieties, may be useful.

The whole series of Indonesian agricultural programs during the New Order period were directed to rice self-sufficiency. The main way to achieve that goal is to use superior varieties. Thus, the planting of local varieties that do not support this business because of its low productivity is no longer recommended.
The main priority of agricultural development is to provide and improve food for the entire population. If this is linked with food security, besides implying the need for economic growth also need the equity so that people's purchasing power increases and food distribution more evenly.

The main reason to give priority to agricultural development is because agriculture has a very prominent position in the economy. In the current economic crisis, agriculture, especially food crops, can contribute to saving the Indonesian economy.
In an effort to improve the welfare of society in general, especially farmers, the government set a policy in determining the order of types of agricultural commodities.

Looking at the types of commodities, the type of commodities that have economic value in order to increase the income of farmers, both for consumption abroad and domestic. Then, it can open more jobs as well as prioritize the types of commodities that have market and marketing prospects.
Wetland farmers should get special attention from the government especially in terms of handling of planting land.
Rice varieties are one of the main technologies that can increase agricultural productivity and farmer income.
With the availability of rice varieties from the government, farmers can choose varieties in accordance with local environmental conditions that are powerless and high sales value. Superior varieties are most prominent in increasing yields on key components in the control of pests and diseases that attack these food crop commodities.

Ciherang rice varieties are superior varieties that are able to adapt in all places of natural conditions, relatively faster age of harvest, have high resistance and have a lot of grain seeds. One of the Ciherang cultivated in Aceh is Janger, this seed is included in the Premium category, because it produces more seedlings than the average of other Ciherang varieties of rice seed products. Even these varieties are more resistant to pests and have higher yield potential, because they come from super seeds.
The seeds of this variety are 110 - 115 days after sowing, the stems are upright and have a height of 117 - 125 cm, pruduktif tillers 18 - 23 stems, while the color of the feet and stems and green leaf, the position of leaves upright, the shape of long grain and grain unhulled yellow clean color.
In addition, this janger varieties of Ciherang have pulen rice texture, amylose content 23%, Glycemic index 54, weight 1000 grains or 28 grams, Average yield 10.0 t / ha, Potential yield 12 t / ha whereas for Resistance to Pests Disease, this plant is very resistant to poppy plant species biotype 2 biotype and rather resistant to biotype 3, resistant to the blight of bacterial strains III and IV bacteria and a number of other pests.

Conclusion
Increased agricultural sector is supported by central and local governments by empowering farmers equally for economic growth cant lead to increased purchasing power and food distribution.
Rice farmers should be given special attention from the government especially the increase of agricultural land and counseling.
Ciherang rice varieties include rice that has been verified by the government as a superior rice crop species, one of them Ciherang Janger type.
Apart from other superior varieties, Ciherang Janger varieties can ensure farmers avoid pest attacks and can increase yields.
The world of agriculture is the main symbol that ensures the life of the community, so to answer all the problems that occur in the agricultural sector and the Indonesian economy, it is expected to continue to empower farmers and extension workers to continue to fight for the advancement of the agricultural sector in Indonesia.
