Almonds are consumable seeds of Prunus dulcis, more commonly called the Almond Tree, meaning that they are the fruit of the seeds produced by the Almond Tree. The botanical name of this fruit is Prunus dulcis and its tastes range from sweet to bitter, Almond can be found mostly in the Middle East, North Africa and Indian, but now available in Turkey, Saudi Arabian, Iran and even Israel., but the United State happened to be the World's Largest producer of Almond.

Almond can be referred to as a drupe(Indehiscent fruit having an outer fleshy part surrounding a single hardened shell with a seed inside) , In Botany the physical look and the skin Almond has got, may render it as not a true nut.

A lot of research has been carried out on almonds and it is concluded to have some medicinal values which comes from the feature that it is LOADED with ANTIOXIDANTS and useful NUTRIENTS, this is the more reason some people add almond oil (gotten from bitter almond that doesn't suit taste) to their food as flavor while some people eat the sweet almond Raw, and some use it as ingredient in salad and some other dishes.

To increase and fasten the absorption of all the nutrients in almonds, it is advisable to take(eat) almond in an empty stomach or better still soak them in water and take in very early in the morning.
