A bunch of swallow birds are perched on the bare electrical wire, on Friday night (02/17/2018) at along the protocol road in Lhokseumawe City, Aceh.

In my opinion, it's something extraordinary, when they can casually perch along the bare electrical wire, when the electricity was on they are not shocked at all, as is the case with another organism, including humans. Such as on their feet have installed the isolation.

So it's not excessive, if then I name them as "Isolator Birds", right?

Here're 3 Reasons Why Swallow Birds Are Not Electrocuted When Perched on Electric Cables :

1. Birds will not electrocute if perched on one power cord.
Birds are not electrocuted when perched on one cable because inside a cable there is no difference in power supply voltage. As you often see around your house, the birds just land on one power cord and he is healthy without any pain at all.

Different cases when the bird touching two power cables at once. He will surely be electrocuted, burned, baked, and eventually die. The problem is, the power cord has been designed so that the distance is far apart from each other. This allows birds not to be electrocuted even for hours to sit there.

For example, try watching an electro-monkey video for touching the following two power lines.

2. Birds are not electrocuted because they are not in contact with the ground.
Electricity will flow from high voltage to low voltage as water flows from high to low place. Earth or soil has a low voltage, therefore electricity always flows from the source voltage to the ground through the conductor.

Well, the bird's body actually includes an electrical conductor, but because the bird does not come into contact with the ground then its body is not powered by electricity. Therefore, this is also used as the reason why PLN installed the power cable is very high. This is so that people who step on the ground are not in direct contact with the power cord.

3. The bird belongs to a weak conductor.

Electricity flows through conductors, such as iron, copper, and water. Well, among the three materials, the most easily powered is copper. Therefore, the power cord in the PLN (State Power Plant) pole using the copper material for electricity flow smoothly.

On the other hand, birds also include conductors, but not as good as copper. So, the electricity prefers to flow in copper wires that in fact have good conductor qualities rather than flowing at the foot of the bird.

Another question arises, if the bird is not electrocuted, will not humans also electrocuted while hanging on the power cord? Of course, humans will not be shocked if they follow the theory of electricity. Like a monkey who is also not stung by electricity because it touches a power cord. However, when the monkey touched two wires simultaneously, he immediately electrocuted, burned, then died.

Thus, some of the reasons why birds are not electrocuted when in the power cord. Maybe useful.
