The scientist has revealed that the MRI scans reveal that endurance run can increase the brains functional connectivity.
Scientist researcher compared brain scans of young adult crosscountry runners to young adults who do not engage themselves to any regular running activity. The runners showed greater functional connectivity connections between distinct brain regions within several areas of the brain which include the frontal cortex, which is very important for cognitive functions such as planning most times decision making, and also the ability to switch attention between tasks.
Scientist research confirmed that there is need to determine whether these physical differences in brain connectivity result in differences in cognitive functioning. Scientist researchers also help lay the groundwork for other researchers to better understand how some exercise affects the brain, particularly in young adults.
