From the cradle to the grave - what is the most beautiful period of life?!

Schooling has changed over the years, so it's nice to visit the Croatian School Museum in Zagreb, the only specialized museum for the history of education in Croatia.
It was founded in 1901. on the initiative of the Croatian Pedagogical-Literary Choir, who started gathering materials for the Museum since 1871.

In the reconstruction of the classroom from the end of the 19th century, the aim was to show more faithfully the look of the classroom with all the contents - school equipment, chairs, school benches and school boards to teaching aids.

In the Museum you can find some facts and things we have forgotten they existed at all. For example, there was a regulation of student behavior in which it was written that the student must be clean and neat, must come to school at the exact time and on his way to school his behavior must be polite and peaceful :))

It's hard to believe that sometimes teachers could physically punish children and they could even order them to kneel on corn.

Things have changed a lot, but still, there are many polemics about the school system in Croatia these days, because education system needs to be reformed, but that's just a separate subject.

However, in Croatia we have a saying 'From cradle to grave, the most beautiful (period) is the school age'. As I get older the more I used it in everyday speech :D
