The Neighbour
There I was thinking to myself how I let myself get into this mess, then the imagine of Jane's neck being snapped by Mr.Delaney, it brought shivers done my spine, if only we had minded our own business. They say curiosity kills the cat, well I guess we are the cats this time around.
I hear that all too familiar thud of Mr.Delaney's wooden leg, "Thud, Thud, Thud" and it jolts me back to life, who would have thought that our friendly next door neighbor would be a killer. I whimper in fear and wet myself as the sound keeps getting closer, if only we stayed at home but now I'm going to die in my neighbors house.
As the attic door wiggles "screech", I ready myself for death but then it stops at a half turn as I suddenly hear a bang on the door, maybe that's my ticket out of here but as I come out from under the bed in the attic, I go toward the window to see who's there, just as I look down, I see a set of eyes looking straight at me, it's Edward, Mr.Delaney's partner.
"Damn" I've been spotted, it's either I jump through this second floor window where I might die or wait for Mr.Delaney to find me, which is certain death.
I wait for them to rush in from the door and waited some more to be certain they were coming then I jumped through the window, as I land I hurt my ankle and on my way down I see Mr.Delaney smiling.
I try to run home but I can't, my ankle's gone and so I start crawling, I notice he (Mr.Delaney) doesn't run after me. He stayed at his door still smiling at me or is it at something else, that's when I look in front of me and see Mrs.Delaney drenched in blood, wielding an Axe... It's Over!
