Choose the good part!

in #sc-v5 years ago

Jesus answered and said to her: Martha, Martha, busy and troubled, you are with many things.
But only one thing is necessary; and Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.
Luke 10: 41-42 (RV 1960)

We see in this passage two sisters, one of whom, called Mary, who apparently did not do anything to fix the house on the occasion of Jesus' visit, sat at the feet of His Master to hear His word. On the other hand, Marta, who was taking care of the household chores to receive Jesus, was not being built; for his mind was so busy in one and another thing less in listening to His Master. So disturbed was she that she did not measure her reaction and ended up claiming to Jesus himself why his sister Maria did nothing to help her with the household chores. But Jesus, with his tenderness and compassionate eyes, said to her: "Martha, Martha, busy and troubled you are with many things. But only one thing is necessary; and Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her. "

But what does the good part mean, which will not be taken away from you? We have all passed, or perhaps we are going through moments of confusion and anxiety. And with this I do not want to tell you that you do not have to do the housework. No! everything has its time; rest time, time for housework; time for the family, time for ourselves; time to work, time to do what we have undertaken; but there is a special time that we will never regret, it is that time of intimacy with our Master !. Listening to His voice through His word should be our greatest delight. Everything else that needs to be done can wait, but our hunger and thirst for His presence can not. In intimacy with God we find great riches, we feel satisfied, renewed and full in Him; we understand great secrets that had not yet risen in our hearts ... all this and many blessings more we obtain in their presence; when we surrender at his feet; when we shut up the voices of our soul and mind, and our being becomes quiet waiting for His presence, while we humble ourselves to listen only to his voice and only his voice to put what He says by work. That is the good part !, which neither the devil, nor the cares of this world will be able to take from us as long as we determine ourselves and we are really ready to put His word to work, as Mary did.

And you, what are you waiting for? It's time for you to pause in your routines and daily things, take some time out of your time to sit down and surrender at the feet of the Master to renew and refresh yourself with the word of the Lord, which is alive and effective, and does not come to God empty . Jesus Christ has been waiting for you for a while and has a lot to teach you because He wants to see you well, but be blessed in all areas of your life. As one of the songs of Jesús Adrián Romero says: "... at his feet there is peace, grace and blessing. At his feet there will be light and direction. " And his word is life to you.

Discard the cares, sit at the feet of Christ and enjoy your time with HIM!
