Taking the offensive in spiritual warfare

At this very moment, a spiritual battle is being fought against Christians and we must be armed to take the offensive in the confrontation. The apostle Paul explains it as follows:

Ephesians 6: 10-18

10 Otherwise, my brothers, strengthen yourselves in the Lord, and in the power of his strength. 11 Put on all the armor of God, so that you can stand firm against the devil's traps. 12 For we have no fight against blood and flesh, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against the spiritual hosts of evil in the heavenly regions. 13 Therefore, take all the armor of God, so that you can resist the bad day, and after you have finished everything, stand firm. 14 Be firm, then, your loins tight with the truth, and clothed with the breastplate of justice, 15 and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. 16 Above all, take the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the darts of fire of the evil one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying at all times with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching over him with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

Paul warns us to take all the armor of God, to stand firm against the forces of hell. There is no doubt that our struggle is not against physical forces, but against invisible powers, which have clearly defined levels of authority within a real, though invisible, sphere of activity. However, Paul not only warns us of a well-defined structure in the invisible sphere, but also urges us to take all of God's armor so that we can maintain a "combat position" against this invisible satanic structure. All this armor not only constitutes passive protection against the enemy; she must be used as an offensive weapon against satanic forces.

Observe Paul's last recommendation: we must pray "at all times with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit" (Ephesians 6:18). Therefore, prayer is not so much a weapon, not even a part of the armor, but the means by which we enter the battle and realize the purpose for which we have armed ourselves. To take the armor of God is to prepare for battle. Prayer is the battle itself, with the Word of God as our main weapon, which we use in the fight against Satan.

@oscar20, we live continuously in a spiritual war and we must put on all the armor of God to be able to resist as his word says.
