Believe without seeing

in #sc-v5 years ago

Read and reflect on John 20.29
jesus said to him: Because you have seen me, Thomas, you believed; Blessed are those who did not see, and believed

have all met people like Tomás. People very difficult to convince, who often have doubts, and often are negative. People who do not believe in what they can not see probably all of us have been like this at some time.
Even though the other disciples believed in the resurrection because they had seen Jesus in person, Thomas could not believe them. He did not believe that Jesus had appeared in the place where they were gathered behind closed doors. One would think that nothing else would have been sufficient evidence. But Thomas still demanded to put his fingers in the hands of Jesus, where the nails had pierced, and in his side, where the spear had pierced. Jesus told Thomas that he believed because he had seen, but that those who believed without seeing would be blessed.

We, who believe that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead, are among those blessed people. But God wants to bless us in so many ways that our faith requires. Faith in his word. Faith in its promises. Faith in his love, power and kindness. He wants us to believe in things we can not yet see. Tom needed help to believe and, often, we needed help too. Like the father who brought his son to Jesus to heal him, we can cry out to God, "I believe, help my unbelief" (Mark 9.24)
In times of doubt, we must be sincere with God. We do not want to be people that we do not believe until we see. When it comes to prayer, the truth is that we will not see until we create.

@mildreduh "Blessed are those who have not seen, and have believed." We are blessed and we have to increase that faith in all areas of our lives. Thanks for sharing.
God bless you.
