Orchards and family farms are systems of food production for self-consumption that contribute to improving food security and the economy of small farmers. Depending on their size and level of productivity, they can provide a variety of foods of plant and animal origin throughout the year (or several months a year). The products of the garden and the farm allow the family to consume their own production, which means a saving in relation to their acquisition in the market.
