Greetings to the whole family of the blockchain.

In Genesis 32: 24-32, we find the brilliant account of Jacob's fight with a man until dawn.

This wonderful story of Jacob sometimes comforts us and sometimes confuses us. While many of his decisions seem despicable, and we even wonder how God could bless such a man, at the same time he gives us confidence to understand that the God who extended his grace to Jacob also offers it to us.

In a famous episode recounted in Genesis 32: 22-32, Jacob fights against a powerful stranger, from whom he later concludes that it is about God. Some scholars believe that Jacob wrestled with the pre-incarnate Christ; others consider that the opponent was an angel. Others say that Jacob struggled with God alone in prayer. In any case, the nation of Israel received its name from Jacob, to whom God gave the new name of "Israel", which means "he who fights with God".

Despite his many shortcomings, weaknesses and subsequent pains, Jacob was loved by God. And through this strange combat, he presents us with a model of the effort needed for effective prayer (Col. 4: 12).

@mamidalia our God is sovereign and showed his glory in different ways and in different people and one of them was Jacob, certainly the perseverance of Jacob was what moved the hand of God
God did not look at his defects, his anguish ... he only looked at the faith and perseverance of a man who fought until he reached his blessing

Greetings and blessings, apostle.

Yes!, that is how sometimes life is, it is sometimes a battle. We should continue putting our request or petition before God till we get what we want. Thanks for sharing with us.

No, it's not a model about effective prayer. There's no secret way to get what you want from God. All things are subject to the will of God. A Christian will never be mature until they're willing to submit themselves to God's will every time in every area of their lives. Even Jesus when he was praying just before going to the cross said, "But not my will but your will be done."
