it is not for wisdom it is by faith

friends of steemit today we will talk about salomon.

Solomon

1 Kings 2: 1-3 David said to Solomon, "Keep the precepts of the LORD your God, walk in his ways, keep his statutes and commandments, his decrees and his testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses.
PRAYER: Lord ... Thank you for your Word, which reveals to us the great men of the past and we can learn from them what you like.

Solomon means gentle. Son of David and Bathsheba. He is also called Jedidiah, beloved of Jehovah. As its name indicates it was of a peaceful nature, the Bible does not speak of it until the last days of David. It was not easy for Solomon to reach the throne; first he had the opposition of his older brother Absalom and then of his other brother Adonijah (fourth son of David) but David chose Solomon to reign in his place.

1- SOLOMON IS A KING KING

And taking the priest Sadoc the horn of oil of the tabernacle anointed Solomon and they blew trumpets and said the people Long live King Solomon. He had to reign in a land blessed by God; its geographical location placed it in the middle of the Persian and Egyptian reign, the two greatest powers of antiquity. Solomon's opportunity was very great to govern politically, economically and spiritually the people of God.

Solomon was the first ruler to inherit the throne, distinct from Saul and David whom God chose, as were the Judges. With the blessing and warning of his father to keep the law of God, this young and good-looking one begins to reign.

2- SOLOMON BEGINS HIS REIGN
The first thing he does is execute his brother Adonijah, who in the long run could be a competitor to the throne. Then he banished the Abiathar priest from Jerusalem because he considered him a traitor and also killed Joab, a general in the army of David his father, when he considered him an enemy and ordered him to be killed in the same temple, 1 Kings 2: 28-34 . Free of his immediate adversaries, Solomon marries the daughter of Pharaoh (this was not good in God's eyes) although for Solomon it was a political and economic strategy that guaranteed trade agreements with Egypt. We must never resort to mundane tactics to enrich our economy. He resorts to the system of God that is based on: Honesty-Honesty-Purity.

3- SOLOMON ASKS GOD FOR WISDOM
David his father had warned him to keep the law and the commandments of God and to serve him with a perfect heart and voluntary spirit, 1 Chron. 28: 9, Solomon seeing the magnitude of the people of God asks the Lord wisdom to govern (this It was good). God not only gave him wisdom in the extreme, but riches, goods and glory that he had not asked for. It is assumed that this wisdom would be used mostly to guide the people of God toward holiness and consecration, as a visible king to the Invisible King, Jehovah of Hosts.

· Built the temple in 7 years (300 m2 and 15Mts.de alto)
· Built his house next to the temple in 13 years (12,000 m2 and 10 meters high)
· He made 3000 proverbs and his songs were 1005
· He spoke on nature, trees, plants, animals, fish and reptiles
· They came from all the peoples and kings of the earth to listen to their wisdom.
· His wisdom was greater than that of the Orientals and Egyptians
· Marketed from Egypt to Syria.

He did not correctly use the wisdom that God gave him according to Deut. 17: 16-20 and was condemned in his own words, Prov. 23: 4. Forgetting the prosperity that comes from God, Pr.10: 22.

4- SOLOMON IN TOTAL DECLINE

We saw in the previous points some signs of distancing from the law of God, still their situation, perhaps it was not so serious. This story should have ended here. But he himself recognizes it, saying No man does not sin 1R.8: 46. Israel lived so splendidly in the days of Solomon that there was no kingdom on earth like that; It was both the grace of this man who everyone wanted to see the face of Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart and each brought him presents: jewelry, clothing, weapons, spices, horses and mules 1 Kings 10 : 23-25.

What happened to Solomon with such glory and power?
This is called: Abuse of power

· He forgot his father's words
· He forgot to comply with the law of God
· He forgot that he asked for wisdom, using it improperly
· He forgot that God had spoken to him 2 times
· He forgot that he would have to give an account to God.

Apparently the priests and prophets were too comfortable economically, as if to recriminate the greatest and most majestic leader that Israel had.

Solomon having peace in his days said: Well, there are no adversaries or evil to fear, 1 R. 5: 4 was dedicated to marketing up to about 2000 km around the corner forgetting the most important thing, the law of God. Things were going so well that the silver in his days was like stones (they had no value) the gold he collected from income and taxes added 23,000 kilos annually, not counting the profit of the merchants and hiring of spices, nor that of the kings of Arabia, nor of the princes of the land 1 Kings 10: 14-15. The gold that the Queen of Sheba gave her was about 4,000 Kg. (Which she did not even consider).

Apart from the first Egyptian woman, daughter of Pharaoh ... She loved many foreign women. Women to whom Jehovah had forbidden to come. But he preferred love before war and in his harem he had those of Moab, Amon, Edom, Sidom and Eteas. To these Solomon met with love and had 700 female queens and 300 concubines, 1 Kings 11: 1-3 and when he was already old ... His women inclined their hearts after other gods and their heart was not prefect with Jehovah. God.

· Followed Astoret, goddess of the sidóneos
· Followed Milcom, abominable idol of the Ammonites
· He did evil in the eyes of Jehovah
· He did not follow faithfully like his father David
· He built a temple to Chemosh, the abominable idol of Moab
· He did all his foreign women; who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods, in front of Jerusalem, Holy City.

All these events are mentioned in only 4 verses 1 Kings 11: 5-8 and the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart had departed from Jehovah, the God of Israel. Because he did not keep what God had commanded him.

Solomon could dominate and deceive the people, shielded in his wealth and wisdom ... But ... He could not deceive God.

Respect and fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, he forgot that all flesh is like the grass and the glory of man like the flower of the grass ... The grass withers and the flower falls; But the word of the Lord remains forever. 1 Pet. 1:24,25

Solomon leaves us a teaching that we will never forget. Each one of us, on a greater or lesser scale, has received something from God and very soon we will give an account of everything we did in our body that is good ... That is bad, 2 Cor. 5:10. To think about it, right? Take care!

God bless you
