LIVE UNDER THE GRACE

It is a privilege to know that through Jesus Christ we can be partakers of the glorious Majesty of our Heavenly Father, of the LORD, the Sovereign God, Creator, Powerful and Eternal.

When we recognize, accept and begin to understand what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross, it is inevitable that we stop being the people we were, to dedicate ourselves to live a new life whose main purpose is to give glory to His Holy Name.

The infinite grace and mercy that God our Father has granted us through Jesus Christ has not only freed us from the bondage of the law, but from the bondage of sin; therefore, it is unheard of for a person to say that he lives under the grace of Jesus Christ when he continues to practice the same things that he himself has set free. To do something like this is to deny the grace and faith that God has given us in Christ to be redeemed and free, for Him and for Him.

Understand well "for Him and for Him," not as many people misunderstand "for Him and for the world." We were free through Jesus Christ and we have been free for Jesus Christ; that is, we are no longer slaves to the law, to sin, to the world and its pleasures. We are free! not to do what we want, but to do what Jesus wants us to do and He wants us to lead a life free of all that separates us from the love of God, from all that from which he freed us. "But now we are released from the law, because we die to it and we are no longer prisoners of its power. Now we can serve God, not according to the old way of obeying the letter of the law but through a new one, that of living in the Spirit. And because you belong to Him, the power of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the power of sin, which leads to death. " Romans 7: 6, 8: 2 (New Living Translation).

The redeeming work of Jesus Christ is wonderful, but I reiterate, some people tend to believe that their justification through Him, makes them free to continue in sin; something meaningless and that completely discredits the liberating work of the Lord, simply because we could not have been freed from sin to return to being slaves of sin, this is something totally irrational. "Therefore, Christ has indeed set us free. Now make sure you remain free and do not get enslaved back to the law. " Galatians 5: 1 (New Living Translation).

"Now, does that mean we can continue to sin because the grace of God has set us free from the law? Of course not! Do not you realize that you become a slave to everything you choose to obey? One can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or one can choose to obey God, which leads to a righteous life. Before you were slaves of sin but, thank God, now you obey with all your heart the teaching we have given you. Now they are free from the bondage of sin and have become slaves of the righteous life. " Romans 6: 15-18 (New Living Translation).

"Living in grace does not mean living in debauchery." We are free in Christ and for Christ, we are free to adore the Father, in holiness, justice, love and the truth that dwells in us through his Son. Some people will believe that living in holiness is impossible; and yes, it is impossible in one's own strength and with all certainty we will fail at any moment, but it is undeniable that a child of God will always be confronted by his sins, can not walk around quietly doing what is offensive in the eyes of his Lord, he knows that he must lead a righteous life, of repentance and surrender so that day by day it is transformed and perfected by Jesus Christ. "Jesus said: I tell you the truth, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin." John 8:31 (New Living Translation). One of the main manifestations that a redeemed one experiences under the grace of Christ, is the abhorrence for that which had him enslaved "sin"; otherwise, you should doubt your freedom.

So, a child of God is recognized by its fruits, not by the legalistic or carnal works he practices, but by the fruits or actions inspired by the love that dwells in his heart thanks to the Holy Spirit of God. "Beloved brothers, what good is it to say that you have faith if you do not show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save someone? As you can see, faith alone is not enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless. Now, someone could argue: Some people have faith; other, good actions. But I tell you: How will you show me your faith if you do not do good deeds? I will show you my faith with my good deeds. " James 2:14, 17-18 (New Living Translation).

"A good tree produces good fruit and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can not produce bad fruit and a bad tree can not produce good fruit. Therefore, every tree that does not produce good fruit is cut and thrown into the fire. That's right, in the same way you can identify a tree by its fruit, you can identify people by their actions. " Matthew 7: 17-20 (New Living Translation).

As you can see, it is impossible to say that we live under faith and grace without seeking a genuine change in our lives, a change that we can only have in Christ Jesus. "Therefore, beloved brethren, you are not bound to do what your sinful nature incites you to do; well, if they live obeying it, they will die; but if by the power of the Spirit they put to death the actions of the sinful nature, they will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. " Romans 8: 12-14 (New Living Translation).

"To live under grace is to live in the freedom that Christ gives us, but that does not mean that we are free to live in debauchery"

"For you, my brothers, have been called to live in freedom; but do not use that freedom to satisfy the desires of the sinful nature. Instead, use the freedom to serve one another out of love. "
