IMPORTANCE OF CHRISTMAS

One of the important things about Christmas is to share with our loved ones, it is a time of love and peace, but the most valuable thing to know is that Jesus was born so that now we can through Him receive the forgiveness of our sins.

A quote from our devotional guide in the church made me think again about my approach to Christmas:
"Let's avoid the temptation at all costs to make our Christmas worship move us away from the tension and pain of life, taking us to a realm of unreal beauty. Christ came to the real world, to the city where there was no place for Him, and to a country where Herod, the murderer of innocents, was the king. He comes to us, not to protect us from the harshness of the world, but to give us the courage and strength to endure it; not to take away from the conflict of life by means of some miracle, but to give us peace - His peace - in our hearts, by means of which we can be calm and firm as the conflict intensifies, and have the ability to offer a world destroyed the healing that brings peace. "

When Mary and Joseph dedicated their baby Jesus to God, Simeon said to them: "Behold, this One is set for fall and for the uprising of many in Israel, and for a sign that will be contradicted (and a sword will pierce your very soul), for Let the thoughts of many hearts be revealed "(Luke 2: 34-35).

Christmas is not moving away from reality but an advance towards it along with the Prince of Peace.
