Luke 19: 1-10
1 When Jesus entered Jericho, he passed through the city.
2 And a man named Zacchaeus, who was chief of the tax collectors and was rich,
3 patients to see who Jesus was; but he could not cause the crowd, since he was of small stature.
4 And running ahead, he climbed into a sycamore tree to see him, because Jesus was at a point to pass by.
5 When Jesus arrived at the place, he looked up and said: Zacchaeus, hurry up and descend, because today I must stay at your house.
6 Then he hastened down and received him with joy.
7 And when they saw this, they all murmured, saying: He has gone to stay with a sinful man.
8 And Zacchaeus, standing up, said to the Lord: Behold, Lord, half of my goods, to give to the poor, and if in anything let anyone down, I will restore it fourfold.
9 And Jesus said to him, Today salvation has come to this house, since he is also the son of Abraham;
10 because the Son of Man has come to seek and save what he had lost.

Zacchaeus was in charge of the tax collectors in the city of Jericho who learned that Jesus was passing through the city through the city among the entire crowd. Upon hearing the words of Jesus, Zacchaeus hurried and full of joy, he took Jesus to his home, but when he saw this, people murmured since Jesus was going to stay in the house of a sinner.

Upon arriving at the house, Zacchaeus told Jesus: "Half of my goods will be given to the poor, and if someone disappointed I will pay them four times more." These actions of Zacchaeus reveal the repentance and genuine faith of Zacchaeus since he realized the evil he had committed, but not being that enough Zacchaeus also had the responsibility to take responsibility for his actions and repair the damage he had committed.
