Aaron's rod flowers
There are men that God has given him authority in this land, the Bible is the main witness of such a great deed of God for men
For example in this passage we can read the authority of Aaron, the word teaches us that the authority of Aaron is established beyond doubt in vv 1.11, as happened with that of Moses in chapter 12
The deaths of chapter 16 discouraged people who lost hope of being able to live in the presence of God
But in this scene as always God in his mercy speaks to his servant Moses and says: Speak to the children of Israel and take from them a rod for each house of the fathers, of all the princes of them, twelve rods according to the your parents' houses, and you will write the name of each one on his rod, and you will write the name of Aaron on the rod of levi...
When God tells Moses to take a rod for each house of the fathers, of all the princes of them, he was referring to those who occupied the positions created in 1.5-15, then Aaron appears as the leader of the Levites, the number of Rods would arrive at 13 when Aaron's rod was added, also stress that the rods would put them in the meeting tabernacle in front of the testimony
This testimony refers to the ark where the presence of jehova rested in the most holy place
The tabernacle of the testimony usually received the name of meeting tabernacle, the change emphasizes the presence of the ark of the testimony inside the meeting tabernacle because it was there where the poles were to be placed
And Moses obeyed everything that God told him and placed all the poles in front of the jehova to all the children of Israel and they saw it and each one took his rod
In verse 8 we read that the cycle of the almond tree had been completed, Aaron's rod had surpassed all the requirements of the test which represented the definitive confirmation of his authority
The authority of God to men is irrevocable and when God speaks man only remains to obey then, what God says he fulfills
God is still the same yesterday as his prophecy and promises are fulfilled today
he has also called us to exercise authority to teach the rebels that he is the authority and exercise authority
"The person God uses is the one who lives under his authority and serves his own generation for the purpose of God."
