Blessings for the whole community.

In Bible stories for children, we will share the story of "Lot's wife became a pillar of salt." This narration is found in Genesis 13: 5-13; 18: 20-33; 19: 1-29. At the end we will review the teaching of this story for our lives.

Abraham and Lot separate.

Lot and his family lived together with Abraham in the land of Canaan. One day, Abraham told Lot: "There is not enough land here for all our animals, let's separate, please, if you go to one side, I'll go to the other."

Lot looked at the earth. He saw a very good part of the country that had water and a lot of good grass for his animals. It was the district of Jordan. That's why Lot moved his family and animals there. At last they made their house in the city of Sodom.

The evil of the people of Sodom.

The people of Sodom were very bad. This bothered Lot, because it was good. God was also upset. Finally, God sent two angels to tell Lot that he was going to destroy Sodom and the nearby city of Gomorrah because they were evil.

The angels take Lot and his family from Sodom by the hand.

The angels told Lot: "Hurry, take your wife and your two daughters and get out of here!" Lot and his family were late, and that is why the angels took them by the hand and took them out of the city. Then one of the angels said: "Run for your life, do not look back, run to the mountains, lest you die."

Lot's wife looks back and becomes a pillar of salt.

Lot and his daughters obeyed and fled from Sodom. They did not stop for a moment, and did not look back. But Lot's wife disobeyed. When they had left Sodom, he stopped and looked back. Then Lot's wife became a pillar of salt. Can you observe the image?

What lesson can we learn from this story?

From this we can learn a good lesson: that God saves those who obey him, but those who do not show obedience lose their lives.
