Lesson 32: "The double face of the Christian"

Greetings to the entire chain of blocks. The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you.

The person's appearance never allows him to see what is really in his heart. What stands out most in the view of the spectators are the physical characteristics and aspects of the face that do not correspond to what is in the heart of the person. A smile, for example, does not imply that it really is a sincere smile. A gesture of wanting to help someone does not imply that it really is the desire of the heart.

You can imagine the multiple moments that the Lord Jesus loudly criticized in the Scythians and the Pharisees because they were saints on the outside and within them were rapacious wolves.

The double face of Christians is a disturbing phenomenon in local churches. There are people who greet you with affection, but then you discover that they speak behind you. There are opportunities in which he receives a handshake from someone who congratulates him because he transmitted a good message to the congregation and then that same person destroys it and criticizes it with other people.

Trusting in what you apparently see in the other person does not imply that this is exactly what is in the heart.

In the book of 1Samuel 16: 6-7, it is written:

And it came to pass that when they came, he saw Eliab and said, Surely his anointed is before the Lord. And the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not look at His appearance, nor at the height of His stature, because I am discarding Him, because the Lord does not see what man sees, because man looks at what is before His eyes, but Jehovah looks at the heart

The prophet Samuel received from God the order to anoint a new king for Israel, since Saul had committed many acts of disobedience before God, to the point that God rejected him. Samuel had to choose a new anointed one; He came to the house of Jesse, father of David, and when Samuel saw the appearance of one of Isai's sons, in this case, to Eliab, Samuel thought that this was the new king for Israel.

Samuel let himself be carried away by what he had before his eyes and hastened to make the decision to anoint Eliab; However, the intervention of God stopped him, and the Lord said to him: "Because the Lord does not see the appearance of man, because man looks at what is before his eyes, but Jehovah looks at the heart".

While you see the exterior of a person, God is looking at what is inside that person.

The true Christian experiences a profound transformation and renewal that comes from God.
When people live in appearance in the local church, it is because they have not passed into them, a new birth in spirit.

Man can be deceived, as was the case of Samuel with Isai's son, Eliab; but, who can deceive God who looks at the most intimate of the heart. No one can deceive God. We must live the Gospel and the new life in Christ, enjoying the splendid fruit of the Holy Spirit.

From now on, make the commitment before God, to be holy, sincere and honest with the Lord. Enjoy the new life in Christ, full of the power of the Holy Spirit, taking advantage of the opportunities that God offers you each morning.

Sort:

God is an expert in changing hearts and certainly he who has Jesus in his heart has to be transformed and love his brothers, because God can not be mocked, we look at what is outside but God looks at what is inside.
