4275 online resource, mainly owned by the governments of the US and the UK have been infected with the miner cryptocurrency Monero. About the incident reported by the specialist on cybersecurity Scott the helm.

Initially, the expert found a miner on the website of the UK government ico.org.uk.

According to Scott Helme, all infected sites used a popular text-to-speech script called BrowseAloud from TextHelp.com Oh. Contained in the script code miner used 40% of the computing resources of visitors to sites for the extraction of Monero, and then sent coins to the purse of attackers.

In turn, representatives of TextHelp.com confirmed that one of their scripts has been compromised during the cyber attack. Before the end of the incident investigation, the company decided to disable BrowseAloud script.
