I am trying to figure out where the high price for SBD is coming from.
Anyone has any idea why people are overpaying up to 20% for this?

It's a natural response to market conditions. SBD is supposed to stay pegged at $1 per token, but sometimes the market fluctuates too rapidly. It takes care of itself and isn't a big deal - you can arbitrage it if you have a lot of SBD handy at the right time.
