Well I surprised myself last weekend with 6 out of 6 correct. That was just a sports bettors dream. I would be nice if I can pull this is twice more this season, because yes that was a rare thing!

So it is time the return back to the future!
While other competitions still have to start in Belgium we already have the second round of the competition this weekend!

Waasland-Beveren vs Standard

Standard did start the competition with a home victory against AA Gent, another favorite to reach play-off 1. But the second goal they scored should have been disallowed due to an off side situation. While we do have a VAR in Belgium at all games, the VAR isn't allowed to use or draw an off-side line on the image and because of that he couldn't interfere. Strange rules we have here!

Waasland-Beveren on the other side, had a surprising draw away at Zulte Waregem. We can debate if it was deserved or not. They scored the 2-1 in the 85th minute to stun Waregem in the 93th minute of the game with an equalizer!

As you can see both models do see Standard as a favorite to take the 3 points with 43% and 42%. This should reflect odds of around 2.3. But most bookmakers only offer 1.8 something for a victory of Standard. Still I do feel that there value in this bet. But one has to be carefull, Waasland-Beveren does play it first home game of the season which will always add some motivation to the squad! And the head coach of Waasland was a previous head coach of Standard!

Still I do expect that Standard will return home with 3 extra points in the pocket. They still have no European games and the season is still fresh, so all players are motivated to show themselves to the coach! Also Carcela will be available and fit to play, which will give Standard even some more attacking power. Orlando Sa (topscorer of Standard last season) will not play yet, because he is not fit enough!

Last season Waasland-Beveren did win at home with 3-1, but that was in a period that Standard was pretty weak and Waasland hadn't sold their best midfielder.

Both teams had an excellent play-off season last year. Where Standard climbed to become the runner-up in PO1, while Waasland-Beveren won their Play-off 2 group!

The over 2.5 goals could also be another good bet. Unibet offers 1.82 and Nitrogensports.eu offers 1.825. I do expect at least 3 goals. Last year 70% of the Waasland home games had more than 2.5 goals, while Standard had 50% of the away games resulting in 3 or more goals.
