SBC League: Jupiler Pro League Friday bet
This evening the Belgian Jupiler Pro League kicks off. It feels like the World Cup did end yesterday and we already are back on the train for a season long of football betting and watching! Discussing results, games and bets with friends, here on the Steem Blockchain and our Discord Channel.
I am really looking forward to it! I never have been so serious about making a profit than this season!
Bet of the day!
Standard will be hosting the kick off game against AA Gent. Both are favorites for a Playoff 1 ticket and Standard is maybe even the dark horse to win the tittle!
Last season there were 2 Standard - Gent games, one was won by Standard with 1 - 0 and the other ended in a scoreless draw!
Also if we take a look at the last 4 encouters on Sclessin, only 1 game resulted in an over and only 1 in a both team to score. If we also take the Gent - Standard into the calculation than we do see 37.5% of the games with an over 2.5 and the same percentage for the both teams to score!
But this is the season opener, not only for both teams, but also for the complete Jupiler Pro League.
Opening games do have something special! Also the statistics here are against betting on the over and still that is what I am planning to do!
The defense of Standard didn't look great during the SuperCup, not that it was bad, but they do had moments with lack of concentration, Gent has an away goal average of 1,2 goals per game and gets 1,18 goals against! Standard scores on average 1.74 goals at home and has 1,34 goals scored against them!
I do feel that during the transfer season both teams did had too many changes in the defensive department to get a clean sheet this evening! Both teams did mostly invest in strengthening the offensive department!
All of the above makes me decide to put my money on the over 2.5 goals. I was doubting between the over 2 goals (odds: 1.527) and the over 2.5 (odds: 2.083). But because I don't want to bet on odds below 1.7, I need to go for the over 2.5.
I will stay away from the 1X2 and AH markets, which are too difficult for this game! It could go both ways and maybe the draw is the most likely outcome.

You sure you're good at predicting the correct score. I thought predicting winning side or number of goals were quite easily achievable.

Not sure about my prediction because there are all based on a statistical model. Would be stupid to follow all bets the models proposes blindly.
The correct score model could give in an insight in the game. If I do have 2 correct for each round, that would be a blast!

Really looking forward to it! Together the the SBC community we hope to be able to beat the bookies, which would be an incredible achievement! Remember that only 2 to 5% of the sports betters do make a profit on the long term!
But for me it is a hobby and it is a great way to spend some quality time with the oldest son and watch some games together! That is more important for me than to make a profit!
