Save by Spending Hoax

in #saving7 years ago

I just saw an advertisement which uses an old trick by advertisers. The story goes... 'you can save money by taking advantage of our special offer'. They claim you will save by spending. Unfortunately, saving is the opposite of spending. Saving is not spending. a1drjohnthumb.JPG

If advertisers were honest, they would disclose their costs and true profit margins. However, they frequently use misleading sale tags like 50% off. Or offer a 'buy one get one free' sale. In each situation the price has probably been adjusted higher to protect the sellers profits. The consumer is being duped.

There are endless schemes that attempt to hide facts from consumers. I can't cover them all. There is no need. If you buy a product from a middleman, you are paying more than the product costs. This is profit for the seller. You pay the price of convenience.

The only way to beat the system is to save by not buying what you don't need.

People have been taught to buy what they want rather than what they need. Hard times will stop this if desperation spreads.

In the mean time, keep helping them kick the economic can just a little further down the road. The past 60+ years proves that savers are losers.

Here is today's beauty.

I disagree that over the past 60 years that savers are losers. If one had saved in gold or silver over that time they would have made a nice profit. 60 years ago gold was $35. and silver was about $1.00 not a bad earnings over that time when compared to purchasing power of the US dollar. Have a nice day.

thank you for the post and photos!

The balance must be maintained so that every one goes satisfied
Good post nice photo too

In fact, the lucrative offers that are offered by purchasing goods are actually provided by the company. They do not give it to their dividends. This is the advertisement that is advertised on TV and taken from us. They do not think consumers benefit from their company promotion.

nature we love you love it

yes but, there is a problem. If you need to buy a television, its have to buy on regular market price then if one give you 20% discount than other its really saves.

spending LESS is NOT saving.

If advertisers were honest
Is that possible?
I don't recall ever having seen an example.
