My Business on Saturdays
Saturdays are for laundry and household chores. I am the eldest in my brood of three and I have to be a big help to my mother - that's my business on Saturdays, no loitering , no hanging out with friends. That is the only way that I can somehow ease the burden on my parents shoulders.
With this, I do not regret that I am a daughter of a carpenter and belong to a poor family because I learned the values of being industrious. We need to work in order to survive and we need to value time and effort. Unlike the rich people, they have their maids who will cook for them and do the errands. But for us, we must have to learn everything to survive.
Just like yesterday, I do the handwashing of our dirty clothes. I had my breakfast after with fried achovies soaked in vinegar and tomatoes. So satisfying and it is healthy.
