The Future Is OKsteemCreated with Sketch.

There's something beautiful about the desert. A place where life struggles to exist. There is no excess energy. All that exists, exists in conservation mode. The unforgiving sunbeams seek to evaporate any moisture that exists. All that remains is a quiet expanse. The hot asphalt winding towards the horizon towards no place in particular. In the desert, nothing changes. The emptiness stretches for miles.

On, the other side of things, we have the technological paradise. Where the desert is marked by survival and struggle, the technological realm is marked by abundance and growth. Things constantly change and the landscape is constantly altered, the skyline only limited by the creativity of those who forge the future. There is surplus energy. All that exists, seeks to thrive. The opportunities are endless.

The Future is OK.

Machine learning algorithms are being used to corral people into making decisions that benefit their creators. One algorithm may cycle through different advertising campaigns and display the two or three that match your profile the best. Given the abundance of choice and being overwhelmed by so many options, you welcome the algorithm's input. At the end of the day, you may the final decision and the algorithm saved your attention span from spending brain power on which restaurant you want to visit for dinner.

The Future is OK.

The kids are behaving themselves this evening. The older child seems to be enjoying the game on his touch pad and the younger one seems to be paying close attention to content playing on her screen. The two rarely talk to each other when in the presence of their devices, but they also don't seem to fight a lot with each other. The games and streaming services have their monthly reoccurring costs, but that seems like a small price to pay to keep things calm and quiet in the house.

The Future is OK.

The morning commute used to be a hassle with all of the traffic jams and congested streets. The hour long drive to and from work just to cover a few miles moving at inches at a time. Now that you don't have to drive, you can simply catch up on the latest and greatest television show and scroll through the social media feeds while your car maneuvers through those jams for you. Now that more and more folks are switching over, the algorithm based cars and driving more optimally and some of the jams are disappearing.

The Future is OK.

Interface technology is improving day after day. Digital classrooms and digital workplaces are becoming more commonplace everyday. Given the massive amounts of digital content and organized delivery systems, the kids can now stay home all day and are able to learn at their pace with a personalized schedule. They each have their own personal digital tutors that can cater and adjust lessons to use techniques that score more optimally on the metrics used to measure their progress. They are receiving high school educations before they are teenagers and they should have a solid foundation to choose whatever career path they desire to pursue.

The Future is OK.

Given the collective ownership stake in the machinery and algorithms of different corporate conglomerates, most folks don't have to work anymore. The machines are producing enough value for people to pursue other more creative avenues in their live, if they please. Others looking for higher ownership stake might join the conglomerates as maintenance and testing technicians, evaluating machines and tweaking algorithms to meet objective standards through highly specified metrics.

The Future is OK.

A lot of folks never have to leave the house. Drones and delivery bots allow the fast transportation of goods from central hubs where larger machines move massive quantities across the globe. Algorithms optimize their movement, delivering goods at the lowest energetic cost and seeking to deliver more faster, safely and efficiently. Resources are transported from the earth and other celestial bodies and manufactured and synthesized into goods that meet that exact specifications of the consumer. Most times, these specifications will be auto-generated by the algorithms and then offered to the consumer for the final approval, a quick nod, leading to the another pulse in the logistic supply chain.

The Future is OK.

Simulated and augmented realities will allow humans to transcend the experiences that were limited by their physical bodies. Physical interfaces become mental bridges allowing machines to allow individuals live their greatest fantasies. The external world of worries no longer needs to apply. You become the master of your own destiny. You are in total control. But in case you get tired or lose creative aspiration, there are always algorithms in the background crafting new adventures for you to conquer.

Are you ready?

There's something beautiful about the desert. There is no excess energy. All that remains is a quiet expanse. In the desert, nothing changes anymore. The emptiness stretches for miles. The world exists in an optimal equilibrium. Everything is dried up.
