Samsung Galaxy Note FE iFixit Teardown Confirms The Smaller Battery

samsung just recently launched the new Galaxy Note FE smartphone. If in case, you have been living under a rock and you have no idea what this is, it is the refurbished Galaxy Note 7 smartphone. The company has launched this smartphone in South Korea recently and it is expected that it will be launched in a couple of other international markets as well.

Talking about the differences between this refurbished one and the regular unit, the battery on the new FE variant is smaller. The company obviously had to do it, since the last Note phablet had terrible battery issues. Apparently, the battery on the Galaxy Note 7 was too big to be accommodated in the body of the phone and it was exploding out in the wild. However, in order to overcome this issue, the company has fitted the refurbished units with comparatively smaller batteries.
And in order to find out what else has changed internally, the good folks at iFixit got their hands on a Note 7 FE unit and tore it apart to see what else comes inside the phone. The first thing which they confirmed is the fact the Note FE does have a smaller battery inside. The Galaxy Note FE has a 3,200 mAh battery which is 300 mAh smaller than the Note 7’s battery. Comparing them in terms of the size, they both are more or less the same as you can see from the image below.

Other than this, nothing else has changed from the regular unit. Even in terms of the repairability score, the Note FE scores the same 4 out of 10, proving that the smartphone is not really to fix if in case something goes wrong with it. And coming to the specification part of it, everything is similar. It sports the same display on the front. And even internally, all the hardware components such as SoC, RAM, camera, etc. remains the same, except for the fact that it has a smaller battery.
