Nokia 8110 - The Matrix Phone

The Nokia 8110 was a phone that was used by the cast of the first matrix movie.
Before the movie came out no one other then who had used the phone knew about it.
For the persons who has seen this phone before it was hard to forget because of the unique banana shape.

In the movie the phone has a spring to slide it open in real life it does not have a spring and needs to be manually slid open and to be honest you almost need two hands for this.
Because it is more grinding than sliding.

The phone is from 1998 and is before the time Nokia had standardized its batteries and chargers
Because of that these days they almost can’t be find in working order
It used a higher voltage charger at 7.5volts instead of the 3.5volts/5volts in the newer phones and the charger port is a little bit slimmer it does not fit the newer chargers as far I know the only phone that shares the same charger as the Nokia 3110 seen below.

Its a classy but bulky phone for its time although now a days the Samsung note series is bigger than this phone and people called this size phone bricks when I was younger
