Practice, practice, practice till you get it right
This morning I was speaking to a friend who is facing pressure to 'Sell' more for his Company. This is what we discussed:
Friend: "Amar, my boss keeps shouting at me to Sell more. He says you are not aggressive in Sales & don't get orders.."
Me: "Does he shout only at you or all the sales people?"
Friend: "At everyone. In fact, he is milder to me than to others."
Me: "Does your Boss ever sell? Or does he sit in his AC cabin?"
Friend: "Oh, he is always selling! And he is a killer..He really knows how to sell."
Alok: "Oh. wow.. have you been on sales calls with him? What makes him so good at sales that you are bad at?"
Friend: "His articulation, passion.. ability to INVOLVE the client.."
Me: "I TOTALLY agree with your Boss. He has the right to be tough & demand more sales from you. Why don't you practice pitching TO YOUR BOSS & make him behave like a disinterested buyer? Get him to guide you to handle client disinterest & rejection. Keep pitching to him till you & your team gets it right?"
My friend agreed that this sounded like a good idea.
Takeaway : If you are in sales, identify the BEST salesperson in your team, keep pitching to him/her until you become better than that person.

i dont like sales/marketing domain :(
practices are sometimes feels boring thats why most of people left in between. but who continue the practicing, they always get success.
