Dancing with wolves... with Jordan & Leo!

Today - how to fuse a bit of sales training with an entertaining movie??

You may well be familiar with the film The Wolf Of Wall Street starring Leonardo DiCaprio. If not, it's worth a watch! Based of course on the real life 'wolf' Jordan Belfort and his book of the same name. 

A couple of the best scenes in the movie are of Leo delivering sales training speeches to his staff. Obviously hammed up a bit and not necessarily the most 'wholesome' approach to business but definitely fun and actually motivating at the same time. 

As for Jordan himself, well, he lost his way a bit in his early career. He saw an opportunity to earn a lot of money, rinsed it completely, lost it all and has now built it all back up again and more... this time based on sound practices.

First off, one of Leo's classic speeches. Very much based on what Jordan used to present in the real world, although I'm sure with a little creative licence! He happens to be one of my favourite actors as he brings a fair bit to various roles, and is now deservedly an Oscar winner.  

I've watched some of Belfort's various presentations, and some of it is very high quality. He certainly practices what he preaches to a large degree. It's not for everyone and some people will gain more than others, but it's always good to learn and spruce up your sales game.
