Saint Stephen of Hungary was born in Hungary,born a pagen but was baptized around the age of 10 with his father.He also was the first king of Hungary from about 1000 to death in 1038.
Many believed he was born around 975 in Esztergom, but was not authentic.

Facts about saint Stephen of Hungary

1)He was the only son of Grand Prince of Gaza

2)He was from the prominent family of Gyulas.

3)He was the first member of his family to became a devoted Christian.

4)The first king of Hungary

5)He was crowned on 25th of December around 1001 ,with a crown sent by Pope Sylvester 11.

His contribution to Christianity

• Saint Stephen of Hungary , established at least one archbishopric,six bishopric and three Benedictine monasteries in Hungary.

-He contributed and encourage the spread of Christianity ,with severe punishment for ignoring Christian custom.
