Christiansø a tour from the achive [vid + eng subs]

In this post, I’ll show the promised tour of Christiansø. As I already indicated recently, this is an older recording when I was still on the water as a charter guest.

Christiansø is a really beautiful island, if you accept a few basic conditions. So it is almost normal that the harbour master puts you on an other spot, because quite often supply and passenger ships arrive. That looks impressive when such a big ship turns around in the narrow harbour. In contrast, many (charter) crews with a 12m boats can't do this without turning the engine to the cut-off speed.

If the supply ship is in port, it will get noisy at the quay due to the loading activities. If you're lucky, a passenger ship on the other side dumps 200 to 400 people. Suddenly all shops and pubs are open and there are people everywhere.

It is best to have something to do on board during this time and simply wait until 3 ... 4 pm. Then calm returns and the island sinks back to sleep. Then it is also the right time for an extensive tour.
